CATCHING UP IN THE NEW NORMAL
The Department of Tourism Northern Mindanao Office meets up with distinguished leaders of the cities and municipalities of Misamis Occidental and Lanao del Norte for the first time after two years following the COVID-19 pandemic.
DOT Regional Office 10 Director Marie Elaine S. Unchuan met with Mayor Joselito C. Chiong of Jimenez, Mayor Gadwin Handumon of Plaridel, and Mayor Lemuel Meyrick M. Acosta of Oroquieta City in Misamis Occidental and Mayor Frederick W. Siao of Iligan City to present tourism development plans for the respective municipalities and cities, geared towards opportunities and improvements of the tourism industry in their areas in the new normal.
Addressing the fact that the COVID-19 Pandemic has badly affected the tourism industry in the country, the LGU leaders cited resilience and opportunities to recover tourism hand in hand with the Department of Tourism.
