BAWBAWON BEACH AND MANGROVE PARK

Bawbawon is a white sand beach fringed by a 299.9-hectare mangrove forest. It contains an impressive 21 species of mangroves dominated by Rhizophora variety and is a marine sanctuary for 39 colorful species of fish. Several water bird species seek refuge and nest in the mangrove forest including the olive-backed sunbird, Philippine glossy starling, kingfisher, common egret, brahminy kite, chestnut-breasted mannikin, black-capped oriole, spotted dove, and blue-capped woodpecker. Misamis Occidental offers eco-tourism activities including boating, diving, birdwatching and islet hopping.
